Brie, Cherry Preserves and Bacon Stuffed French Toast
This French toast boasts a unique twist, full of a diverse range of flavors. The creaminess of the brie cheese is complimented by the subtle sweetness and tartness of the cherry preserves. The bacon also highlights smokey and salty notes, intensified by the indulgent buttery taste of the bread, guaranteed to please the palate on any morning.
Recipe
Cook bacon and set aside.
Take 2 slices of bread and on them, spread the cherry preserves.
Top one slice of bread with slices of bacon and brie cheese.
Take the other slice of bread, topping the other, forming a sandwich.
Continue to do this, until 4 sandwiches are formed (or how many servings you would like).
Combine your eggs, heavy whipping cream, and vanilla extract in the shallow baking dish.
Melt butter onto your flat top grill or sauté pan, over medium heat.
Dredge one sandwich into your egg mixture, ensuring both sides are fully coated.
Place sandwich onto cooking surface, flipping to cook both sides until browned.
Continue to follow the same steps, to cook the remaining sandwiches to make your stuffed French toast.
Cut each stuffed French toast diagonally.
Drizzle with maple sugar and dust with powdered sugar, before serving.
